Today, we will compare two tyre models, the Vredestein ULTRAC and Firestone Roadhawk.

The Vredestein ULTRAC, manufactured in Hungary, is a summer tyre and is the original equipment for the BMW 2-series Active Tourer. It has a rating of 26% on our website. Firestone Roadhawk, on the other hand, is also a summer tyre, however, its manufacturing country and first equipment are unknown. It surpasses the former with a rating of 59% on our site.

In the AutoBild test, out of 51 tyres, Vredestein ULTRAC and Firestone Roadhawk secured the 4th and 30th positions respectively. Similarly, in AutoKlub ČR test, ULTRAC was 7th while Roadhawk was 11th out of 19 tyres tested. In the ADAC test comparison, out of 16 tyres, ULTRAC ranked 13th, and Roadhawk 9th.

According to AutoBild 2023's text summary, Vredestein ULTRAC impressed with excellent driving dynamics, short wet and dry braking distances, and very good hydroplaning properties, but faltered due to low mileage and increased rolling resistance. On the other hand, Firestone Roadhawk earned praise for sporting dynamic handling, short dry braking distance, and good value for money but was let down due to increased noise during rolling.

In the ADAC 2022’s text summary, it was noted that the Vredestein ULTRAC showed convincing safety reserves during aquaplaning, sporty dynamic driving behavior, and short braking distances on wet and dry roads, but had limited mileage. Firestone Roadhawk performed well on dry roads with relatively low wear, but lacked handling on wet surfaces and was the loudest tyre in the test.

In conclusion, Firestone Roadhawk (manufacturer link) stood out in the mutual tests, although it struggled with noise and handling in wet conditions. Comparatively, Vredestein ULTRAC presented excellent driving dynamics and braking performance but was compromised by limited mileage. These data points provide potential buyers with a comprehensive overview to make an informed decision.

Note: Our dataset does not indicate any new tyres replacing these models. We will update this information once it becomes available.
