If you're looking for a guide to help you choose the best summer tyres for the upcoming season, you've come to the right place. In our comprehensive guide you'll find information based mainly on test results, but also on EU labels and user reviews. We'll look at the current tyre market from different angles - we'll cover the most recommended tyres in tests, break down the tyres tested into different segments and also dig into recently introduced tyres. Even so, this is still just a general overview of the market - if you know your tyre dimensions, you can create a more tailored overview for you, containing only the tyres available, by entering your tyre dimensions in the following section.
Our favorite every-day performance tyre that delivers fast laps on dry circuits while being safe for the daily commute, having won multiple tests in wet conditions. However, if you lean more towards comfort and low rolling resistance, the PremiumContact 7 might be a better choice.
Outstanding handling on dry surfaces, combining dynamic handling, precise steering, and short braking distances. Excellent performance in wet conditions including great grip, short braking distances, and communicative steering response. Good aquaplaning resistance.
Moderate comfort, some tests report understeering on dry a dry handling test.

Continental did it again with the PremiumContact 7. It’s an incredibly well balanced tire with just the right wet and dry grip and above average mileage. Since it’s launch in 2023 it got nothing but the best results in the tests, the only downside being it’s premium price.
Exceptional grip on both wet and dry surfaces, shortest braking distances, superior aquaplaning resistance.
Slightly higher rolling resistance, average noise reduction, high price

The Pilot Sport range from Michelin is now almost legendary, with the Cup variants being the fastest road legal tyres available. But the ‚ordinary‘ Pilot Sport 5 not as spory as it’s name suggest - it’s incredibly well balanced, with the priority being low rolling resistance and high mileage over sporty handling. It’s still a Michelin tire, so higher price is to be expected.
Excellent safety margins against aquaplaning combined with short breaking distances on wet makes it a very well balanced tyre, while dynamic handling on both wet and dry makes it also very enjoyable to drive. Low rolling resistance and low noise, long tread life.
High price level, some tests mention harsh ride quality.

- Remarkably balanced overall performance provides exceptional stability and safety on a wide range of surfaces and weather conditions. - Outstanding handling and steering precision ensure agile driving dynamics, delivering excellent performance on both wet and dry roads. - Superior braking performance—evident in notably short stopping distances under wet conditions—enhances overall driving safety.
- The tire’s rolling resistance is only average, which may compromise efficiency despite its otherwise high-performance attributes.

While the Michelin PS4 SUV was introduced back in 2019, it still offers a top-notch performance for the SUVs which is difficult for it's competitors to match.
Superior driving characteristics on both wet and dry, precise steering response. Excellent safety margins in aquaplaning. Short stopping distances.
Minor handling weaknesses on wet roads.

The Asymmetric 6 is the latest addition in the Eagle F1 range, offering great compromise between every day comfort and sporty driving. While it has dynamic steering response, it’s also very good on wet and has a low rolling resistance. Definitely recommended!
Balanced performance with no significant weaknesses, great safety, enjoyable handling and short braking distances
High price, some tests report minor issues in aquaplaning and worse heat resistance when compared to predecessor

We really like the new Potenza Sport, as it’s more sporty and dynamic than the usual tyre in this category, but still perfectly usable and safe for everyday driving, which makes it unique. It’s rolling resistance, mileage and overall comfort are also on a good level, except for a slighty higher noise.
Precise steering response and direct maneuverability, exceptional handling on wet and dry with high grip levels and short braking distances
High rolling resistance, above average noise, average mileage

In this section we have collected the new tyres for this year - this can be useful as these tyres are yet to be tested, but are usually based on a previous model that has most likely been tested at least a few times. As these new tyres are being developed on the basis of the previous model, they will most likely be even better than their predecessor in some aspects and thus deserve your attention.
