Winter tyre test 205/55 R16 - ADAC 2024

As in every year, ADAC is carefully testing a large number of winter tires in two sizes this year—205/55 R16 and 215/55 R17. ADAC's methodology slightly differs from other organizations, leading to a somewhat different final ranking.

This test was performed in 205/55 R16, but is applicable to other similar sizes, especially in the same tyre width (205). Continental WinterContact TS 870 is the best of 12 tested tyres according to tested properties (Rating, Winter, Wet, Dry, Enviromental impact, ). Other featured tyres include Goodyear UltraGrip Performance 3, Michelin Alpin 6, Hankook W462 Winter i*cept RS3; Some tyres weren't included in the test, such as Goodyear UltraGrip Performance Gen-1, Kleber KRISALP HP3, BFGoodrich G-FORCE WINTER 2.
