Today we bring you a comparison between two high-performance summer tyres, the Pirelli P ZERO PZ4 and Falken Azenis FK520.

The Pirelli P ZERO PZ4 is a unique ultra-high-performance (UUHP) tyre that is highly rated at 85%. Although new replacements haven't been introduced, it ranks significantly higher in our tests when compared to the Falken Azenis FK520 that comes with a rating of 75%. The stark difference in the rating showcases how Pirelli P ZERO PZ4 outperforms FK520.

In the Autozeitung, ACE, SportAuto, and Autobild tests, the Pirelli P ZERO PZ4 consistently outperformed the Falken Azenis FK520, achieving higher rankings and excelling in various features such as dry lane changing, wet circle cornering, wet handling, and dry steering response.

However, in the 'sportauto 2023' test, despite Pirelli's higher ranking, some issues were pointed like weak wet braking and increased rolling resistance. The Falken Azenis FK520, on the other hand, had commendable characteristics such as good wet braking and secure aquaplaning properties, despite lesser spontaneous steering, indifferent balance on wet surfaces, and longer dry braking distances.

In terms of noise, the Falken Azenis FK520 is the clear winner with the best rolling comfort and less noise according to the tests. Both tyres have their strengths and weaknesses but from a holistic point of view and considering the overall test results, the Pirelli P ZERO PZ4 stands out amongst the two.
