Comparison: Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 vs. Bridgestone Potenza Sport vs. Pirelli P ZERO PZ4 vs. Hankook Ventus S1 evo3 K127

If you're in need of top-tier performance tyres, you can't go wrong with either the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 or the Bridgestone Potenza Sport. Both are summer tyres promising high performance, yet they come with distinct strengths and weaknesses as demonstrated by various tests we have conducted.

The Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 tends to earn a higher rating overall, with an emphasis on dry handling, dry braking, aquaplaning resistance, and exterior noise. Its performance was consistently above-average across tests, with particular standout features being its dry handling comfort and noise levels. This tyre, manufactured in Germany, tends to excel in practically all areas, and many reviews commend it for its dependability and versatility, while it’s also the more affordable of the two. A newer model has since replaced this tyre (link to newer model).

In contrast, the Bridgestone Potenza Sport shines in wet conditions, providing superior wet handling and circle cornering abilities. Manufactured in Poland and Hungary, this tyre has gained reputation for its dynamic handling and grip, even under adverse weather conditions. However, it does have a notably high rolling resistance and shows signs of significant wear after a few laps, suggestive of potential longevity issues. This tyre has also been replaced by a newer model (link to newer model).

In overall test positions, the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 tends to take the lead. In the Autobild test, it secured the first position out of 10 tyres, while in the ADAC test, it achieved the fourth position out of 18 tested tyres. Moreover, its performance was amazing in the ACE test, where it topped the list.

On the other hand, the Bridgestone Potenza Sport didn't fare as well overall, attaining 6th position in the Autobild test and 2nd position in the ADAC test. Its highest ranking was 4th in the ACE test.

Overall, your preference between the two will likely depend on your specific driving needs and the weather conditions you frequently encounter. If you prefer sporty driving, particularly in wet conditions, the Bridgestone Potenza Sport may be the ideal choice for you. But if you're looking for a reliable, all-round performer tyre, then the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 is certainly worth considering. Both Goodyear and Bridgestone are reputable manufacturers known for quality products, so you can't really go wrong with either.

Verdict: The Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 emerges as the better tyre overall, excelling in most areas and offering solid value for money.
