Both tyres have now been succeeded by newer models, with the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 and Michelin Pilot Sport 5 now available.


In mutual tyre tests, the GoodYear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5 demonstrated strong performance, securing 1st place in both Autozeitung and AutoMotorSport tests out of ten and eleven tyres tested, respectively. Excellent aquaplaning resistance and wet braking qualities were some of the tyre's highlighted strengths. On the other hand, the Michelin Pilot Sport 4 attained 4th and 2nd positions in the same tests, highlighting its dry braking capabilities and performances in various wet handling tests.


In the extensive Autobild test involving 53 tyre models, the GoodYear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5 once again claimed 1st place, with its price-value ratio, wet handling, aquaplaning resistance, and mileage earning commendations. The Michelin Pilot Sport 4 achieved a commendable 2nd place, showcasing strengths in aquaplaning resistance, dry braking and wet handling. The ADAC test saw the GoodYear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5 placed 3rd, while the Michelin Pilot Sport 4 secured 2nd place, both achieving recognition for their impressive mileage and dry braking performance.


After examining test results from various sources, it is evident that both the GoodYear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5 and Michelin Pilot Sport 4 deliver exceptional performance, with strengths in wet handling, aquaplaning resistance, and mileage. While the GoodYear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5 holds a slight edge in overall test positioning, both models offer strong handling and braking performances, showcasing their respective manufacturers' commitment to excellence.
