Detailed head-to-head comparison based on actual test results
Today, we present the results of our tyre test, comparing two summer models: the Fulda EcoControl HP2 and the Falken ZIEX ZE310 Ecorun.
The Fulda EcoControl HP2 is a successor of the Fulda EcoControl HP line. One of the standout features is its performance in exterior noise and aquaplaning according to the Autobild test. Interestingly, it took 20th place out of 53 tyres in this test. Our rating for this tyre is 79%. Also, it has been praised for its environmental balance, mileage, wear, and efficiency.
On the other hand, it had some weaknesses on wet roads which were a deciding factor in the test results. So in the context of safety, this product from Fulda could certainly show some improvements.
Moving on, we have the Falken ZIEX ZE310 Ecorun, a touring model manufactured in Turkey. Now, this tyre performed better overall, with our rating coming in at 81%. It impressed with its dry handling, which was highlighted as one of the best features in the Autobild test. In the same test, it managed a commendable 8th place among 53 tested tyres.
However, it does have some weaknesses. There were remarks about its environmental balance, efficiency, and sustainability. But despite these minor shortcomings, the Falkenstill seems to be a sound choice.
Synthesizing multiple tests' results, we see that the Falken ZIEX ZE310 Ecorun generally outperforms the Fulda EcoControl HP2. It took 2nd place in the GTÜ test, while the HP2 came in 4th. Moreover, the Ecorun secured the 6th position in the ADAC test, with the HP2 in 13th place.
To wrap up our comparison, both tyres have their strengths and weaknesses. While the Fulda EcoControl HP2 scores highly on noise and aquaplaning tests and delivers good results in mileage, wear, and efficiency, it still shows room for improvement on wet roads. Conversely, the Falken ZIEX ZE310 Ecorun impresses with dry handling and ranked better overall in the tests but wasn't quite perfect in terms of environmental impact and sustainability.
As a result, your choice should largely depend on what you prioritize in a tyre. If you're looking for better dry handling and overall performance in tests, then Falken might be the way to go. However, if noise, aquaplaning, mileage and wear are your main concerns, then you might want to consider Fulda.
