Today's tyre comparison brings into focus two popular models: the Vredestein Ultrac Pro and Continental SportContact 7. The latter is a direct replacement and improvement over previous models which Continental had produced such as Continental SportContact 6, 5 and 3.

In terms of our rating, the Continental SportContact 7 stands out with a perfect 100% compared to the Vredestein Ultrac Pro's 71%. This is indicative of the respective performances each tyre has shown in various tests.Considering results from AUTOBILD, autobild 2025, Autobild, ADAC and autobild 2024, the Continental SportContact 7 consistently ranked first in all tests, while the Ultrac Pro varied in position, ranking as low as 8th in some tests.

The strength of the Continental SportContact 7 lies in it's ability to excel in all areas especially in wet handling, wet circle cornering, wet braking, dry handling, and dry braking. On the other hand, the Vredestein Ultrac Pro performed especially well in regards to exterior noise, rolling resistance, and aquaplaning in both cross and longitudinal tests.

Despite these strengths, each tyre has room for improvement. The Continental SportContact 7 has slightly higher rolling resistance according to autobild 2025. As for the Vredestein Ultrac Pro, its performance is slightly offset by a higher weight and satisfactory projected mileage.

In conclusion, Continental has consistently upgraded its SportContact series and the 7th iteration does not disappoint. It leads in the overall tyre tests, showing strong performance in nearly all categories and provides a great combination of precise handling and excellent braking capabilities in different conditions. On the other hand, the Vredestein Ultrac Pro is a well-balanced tyre that provides great comfort and aquaplaning safety while keeping exterior noise and rolling resistance at a minimum. Therefore, the decision between these two will depend on your car type and driving preferences.
