1. Vredestein Quatrac Premium3. Yokohama BluEarth-4S AW21 Upper-middle
Let’s take a deep dive into a comparison between two highly-rated tyres: Vredestein Quatrac and the Yokohama BluEarth-4S AW21. Both these models have been replaced by a newer version, but they still stand out because of their unique qualities.
The Vredestein Quatrac, made in Hungary, scored an impressive 92% in our rating. Known as an all-rounder, it consistently ranked high in various tests. The ADAC 2021 tests praised it for its high projected mileage, minimal wear, and overall efficiency. However, certain weaknesses were noted on dry, wet, and winter road conditions. In the Autobild 2023 test, the Quatrac was a standout for its performance on wet road conditions, handling all types of weather with dynamic ride quality and excellent resistance to aquaplaning. However, its mileage was deemed average. Despite some minor drawbacks, the Vredestein Quatrac still came 2nd out of 32 tyres in the Autobild test and 6th out of 16 tyres in the ADAC test.
On the other hand, the Yokohama BluEarth-4S AW21, despite its all-round type, scored only 31% in our rating. According to the ADAC 2021 report, this tyre shines in its snow braking performance but falls short on dry and wet road conditions, winter driving conditions, projected mileage, wear, and notably, weight. Furthermore, it fared poorly in mutual tests, securing a disappointing 23rd position out of 32 in the Autobild test and 14th out of 16 in the ADAC test.
On overall comparison, the Vredestein Quatrac surpasses the Yokohama BluEarth-4S AW21 in terms of efficiency, wear and performance in different weather conditions. If you are considering these brands for their latest models, you may want to delve into the offerings from Vredestein and Yokohama.
