When it comes to your car tyres, choosing the right one can make all the difference. Today, we're comparing two summer-type tyres, the Tomket Sport and the Firestone Roadhawk. These tyres were manufactured by Tomket and Firestone respectively.

Our team rated the Tomket Sport at 11% while the Firestone Roadhawk had a significantly higher rate of 59%. It stays clear there might be a lot of differences in the performances of these two tyres.

Tomket Sport: This tyre had its strong suit in lightness and efficiency with less wear. However, in several tests such as Autobild, autozeitung 2020, Autoklub ČR, and ADAC, it did not perform exceptionally well, falling behind other tested tyres. It demonstrated significant weaknesses in dry and wet handling conditions, with direct impact on its sustainability. In terms of its overall positioning, it was ranked 49th in Autobild test, 16th in Autoklub ČR test, and 37th in ADAC test (out of 50, 19, and 53 tyres respectively). This tyre model has not been replaced by a newer model.

Firestone Roadhawk: On the positive side, this tyre has shown excellence in dry handling, wet handling, and wet side guiding. It also appears to be lightweight and efficient. However, it demonstrated a few shortcomings, particularly concerning its performance on wet surfaces and its lifespan. Among the tests, it fared better than the Tomket Sport. It took the 10th position in Autobild test, 11th in the Autoklub ČR test, and 20th in the ADAC test (out of 53, 19, and 50 tyres respectively). Being a product of Firestone, this tyre has not been replaced by a new model so far.

Verdict: From assessing the test data available, the Firestone Roadhawk appears to be a better tyre overall compared to the Tomket Sport. Its strength in both dry and wet handling exceeds the performance of the Tomket Sport. However, both tyres could improve in their overall lifespan as portrayed by test summaries.

Before purchasing a tyre, consider its performance factors as well as your specific driving conditions. The Firestone Roadhawk is suitable for those who prioritize tire performance in both dry and wet conditions while Tomket sport may not the best choice unless you are considering other factors, such as budget.
