Detailed head-to-head comparison based on actual test results
The two tyres we're comparing, the Sava Intensa UHP 2 and the Continental PremiumContact 6, have both shown to be reliable and high-quality options for summer usage. Each tyre has its respective strengths and weaknesses, which makes for an interesting comparison.
The Sava Intensa UHP 2 is a solid summer tyre, it scored an overall rating of 67% in our tests. This tyre replaced the Sava Intensa UHP model, and despite the improvement, it does not top out in our mutual tests. Autobild position it at a respectable 11th spot out of 52 tyres tested for its performance in terms of aquaplaning and price/value ratio. ADAC ranks it 6th out of 16 (best in noise and fuel efficiency), and Promobil placed it at the bottom of their test of 8 tyres. It should be noted that while the Sava tyre shows good results on a dry track, it has shown weaknesses in wet conditions.
On the other hand, Continental PremiumContact 6, made by Continental, is a touring summer tyre made in Europe that replaced the Continental ContiPremiumContact 5. Showing significant improvements over its predecessor, this tyre scored an impressive 83% in our tests and has since been replaced by the newer Continental PremiumContact 7. It achieved leading results in our mutual tests with ADAC ranking it the best out of 16 tyres tested for its wet handling and braking, plus its excellent performance in terms of mileage. Autobild also rates it highly at first place out of 52 for dry handling and mileage. Promobil places it second out of eight tyres tested. The Continental tyre is praised for its balanced performances and particularly good results on wet surfaces, with no significant weaknesses noted.
In conclusion, while the Sava Intensa UHP 2 provides decent performance, particularly on dry roads and is relatively quiet, it doesn't compare to the high performance of the Continental PremiumContact 6. Not only does the Continental tyre outperform the Sava model in both wet and dry conditions overall, it's also praised for its balanced performance and excellent mileage. If you're looking to choose between the two, the Continental PremiumContact 6 is the superior option.
