The Pirelli Cinturato P7 and the Michelin Primacy 4 are two top-tier summer tyres that have garnered a lot of attention in recent years. Both tyres claim to offer top-notch performance, but they have their unique strengths and weaknesses. In this article, we'll compare these two tyres based on real data from various tyre tests.

Pirelli Cinturato P7

The Pirelli Cinturato P7 displays a strong aptitude towards wet handling, comfort, and dry driving behavior according to various tests. In the Teknikens test it came in 5th out of 10, while it was positioned 4th out of 12 in the ADAC tests, showing consistent strength in dealing with aquaplaning and dry driving behavior. In the AutoMotorSport test, it achieved the 5th position out of 11, turning heads with its excellent dry handling/steering response and interior noise level. And finally in the ACE & Autozeitung tests the Cinturato P7 came in at 9th of 9 and 4th of 10 respectively.

Strengths: This Pirelli model shines in areas like wet handling and comfort.
Weaknesses: Its relative performance in some of the tests suggests there might be room for improvement.

Michelin Primacy 4

The Michelin Primacy 4 on the other hand, was a consistent high performer across all tests. It took the top spot in both the Teknikens and ADAC tests, out of 10 and 12 tyres respectively. Testers praised its dry braking, fuel efficiency, comfort and wet handling capabilities. In the ACE test it finished 8th out of 9, but rebounded in the AutoMotorSport test by garnering 3rd position out of 11, where it showed impressive dry braking/handling and rolling resistance. And lastly, it nailed the 2nd position in the Autozeitung test, thanks to its strong comfort and rolling resistance.

This tyre has been replaced by the Michelin Primacy 4+.
Strengths: Top performance in dry braking, comfort and rolling resistance make this Michelin model a solid choice.
Weaknesses: Had valuable room for improvement in the ACE test.

Conclusion

It's clear from the data that while the Pirelli Cinturato P7 offers commendable performance, especially in wet handling, the Michelin Primacy 4 generally tends to perform better across a wider range of categories. Both tyres reflect the high quality that both Pirelli and Michelin pour into their products. It all boils down to personal preference based on driving conditions and specific needs.
