Comparison: Nokian Powerproof vs. Continental PremiumContact 6 vs. GoodYear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5

The Nokian Powerproof and Continental PremiumContact 6 are summer tyres, both boasting impressive features and impressive results in various tests. They are both products of highly reputed manufacturers Nokian and Continital respectively.

The Nokian Powerproof stands out for its dry steering response in mutual tests. It was positioned 7th out of 11 in the AutoMotorSport test showing its strength in dry conditions. Despite this, there were some noted weaknesses in aquaplaning safety and a barely perceptible, singing rolling and camber noise. The tyre achieved 4th place out of 10 in the Autobild test, where it exhibited good performance in wet braking and handling on gravel, in addition to wet handling. ADAC test ranked it 11th out of 16 tyres in the test, with particular strengths in noise and interior noise.

The Powerproof tyre does not have any previous models and hasn't been replaced by a newer model. Our site has awarded it a rating of 71%. A Finnish-made tyre, it's a reliable choice in its category.

On the other hand, the Continental PremiumContact 6, which is made across Slovakia, Germany and Czech Republic, fared better in tests. It secured 3rd position out of 11 in the AutoMotorSport test - besting the Nokian Powerproof and shone particularly in dry steering response, comfort and dry handling. The tyre went one better in the Autobild test, clinching 2nd position out of 10, due to its strength in dry handling, mileage, price/value and dry braking. It swept the board in the Gute-Fahrt test, winning 1st place out of the 10 tyres tested.

Noted for particularly peak performances in dry conditions, the PremiumContact 6 has been designed specifically for Audi vehicles, with a focus on dry performance. It is equipped with self-sealing Seal and noise-damping Silent technology. Despite this, some shortcomings were noted in the wet characteristics.

It's worth noting that the PremiumContact 6 has replaced the Continental ContiPremiumContact 5 and has now itself been replaced by the Continental PremiumContact 7. Out of 100, our site has awarded it rating of 87%.

In conclusion, while the Nokian Powerproof has its strengths particularly in dry conditions, the Continental PremiumContact 6 consistently performs better in tests, showing it to be the stronger choice. However, Purchase decisions should always be based on specific needs and intended usage.
