When it comes to tyre comparison, every detail matters. Today we are looking at Hankook Ventus Prime3 K125, produced by Hankook and Continental ContiPremiumContact 5, produced by Continental, both well-known manufacturers in the tyre industry.
Starting with the Hankook Ventus Prime3 K125, it's a summer tyre first equipped on the Citroën C3 Aircross. The tyre has an overall rating of 75% on our site, it secured a second position in Autobild's test out of 50 tyres. In the same test, its best features included Dry handling. The tyre didn't perform as well in the ADAC test, landing the 14th spot out of 16, but redeemed itself in the ACE test, taking the 4th place, boasting reliable Aquaplaning - cross, Dry driving behaviour, and Exterior noise. However, it has now been replaced by the Hankook Ventus Prime 4.
On the other hand, the ContiPremiumContact 5 is also a summer tyre, however, no first equipment is specified. Despite having an unknown rating on our site, the tyre outperformed in most tests. It came 9th in the Autobild test, but shone brightly in the ADAC test, securing the 3rd spot with commendable features like Interior noise, Wet braking, Wet circle cornering, and Wet handling. Furthermore, it dominated the ACE test, scoring the first position. Key strengths included Aquaplaning - longitudal, Dry braking, Dry driving behaviour, Wet braking, Wet circle cornering, and Wet handling. However, the Continental PremiumContact 6 has now replaced it.
Based on the performance, the Continental ContiPremiumContact 5 performed better, winning the ACE test and securing a position within the top ten in the Autobild test. However, the Hankook Ventus Prime3 K125 also demonstrated significant strengths, including Dry handling and performing relatively well across all three tests.
Keep in mind that both these tyres have been replaced by their newer models: the Hankook Ventus Prime 4 and the Continental PremiumContact 6. These replacements may offer performance enhancements, therefore we advise checking their reviews as well.
In conclusion, although the Hankook Ventus Prime3 K125 holds its ground with commendable features and performances in tests, the Continental ContiPremiumContact 5 outperformed in comparative tests, which makes it the better tyre overall among the two.
