Comparison: GT radial Sport Active 2 vs. Fulda SportControl 2

Today we will be taking a closer look at two summer tyres on the market - the GT radial Sport Active 2 and the Fulda SportControl 2. Both have been tested by independent organizations and today we will summarize those tests and dig into the strengths and weaknesses of these tyres.

Starting with the GT radial Sport Active 2 produced by GT Radial, it scores an average rating of 44% on our platform. Test results highlight best performance in conditions of cross and longitudinal aquaplaning. Its strong points include secure wet and dry handling, excellent aquaplaning qualities, and good cost-performance ratio. However, weaknesses surface in terms of sub-par lateral guidance on wet surfaces. In 2022, although it retains its good short dry braking distances and low rolling resistance, it presents low grip level on wet surfaces and extended wet braking distances.

On the other hand, the Fulda SportControl 2 made by Fulda earns a higher rating of 74% according to our data. In the Autobild test, it ranked higher than the GT radial Sport Active 2, coming in at the 8th position. Its best features were deemed to be cross aquaplaning and comfort. Reviewers appreciated it for the balanced and secure handling characteristics on wet surfaces and a lower price. However, criticisms were drawn towards its extended wet braking distances and slightly delayed steering response. In the 2022 test, despite having extended wet braking distances and average lateral guidance on dry surfaces, it demonstrated secure driving properties on both wet and dry surfaces, good aquaplaning qualities, short dry braking distances, and better comfort than the GT radial Sport Active 2.

In conclusion, if we are to go by the tests and our own rating system, the Fulda SportControl 2 outperforms the GT radial Sport Active 2 in overall performance. Yet, it is important to consider what matters most to you as a driver. If you're looking for a tyre with balanced wet and dry handling and place a higher emphasis on comfort, the Fulda SportControl 2 is the better option. However, if cost-performance ratio is your main concern, then the GT radial Sport Active 2 could be a better fit.

Please keep in mind, that tyre performance may significantly vary depending on the conditions, so always consider multiple factors before making your decision. Stay tuned for more tyre comparisons and reviews on our page.
