1. Firestone Multiseason 2 Upper-middle2. Kleber Quadraxer 2 Upper-middle3. Viking Fourtech Lowcost
The Firestone Multiseason 2 tyre and the Viking Fourtech tyre present an interesting comparison given their distinct intended uses. While Firestone Multiseason 2 is a winter tyre, Viking Fourtech is an allround tyre.
The Firestone Multiseason 2, manufactured in Italy, achieved an impressive 60% rating from us. In terms of its strengths, it performs particularly well in terms of snow traction and offers excellent value, as outlined in a Autobild test where it finished in 6th place out of 32. According to autobild 2020, they further praised the tyre's good traction and short braking distances on snow, dynamic wet handling, short dry braking distances, high mileage, and excellent price-performance ratio. However, the test also noted that the tyre provides only moderate safety reserves in case of aquaplaning. Currently, there is no newer model that has replaced the Firestone Multiseason 2.
The Viking Fourtech scored a bit lower, achieving a 45% rating from us. Despite this, it possesses inherent strengths which include effective aquaplaning, cross, and reduced rolling resistance, which was emphasized in a Autobild test where it ranked 21st out of 32. However, no further detailed tests are available to provide more insights on this tyre at this time. Similarly, there is no newer model replacing the Viking Fourtech yet.
When looking from the perspective of overall testing, the Firestone Multiseason 2 slightly edges out the Viking Fourtech due to its superior placement in Autobild's tests and its excellent price-to-value ratio. That said, the Viking Fourtech's all-round nature makes it a versatile choice, especially considering its decent performance in areas such as aquaplaning and rolling resistance.
