On paper the Falken Azenis FK520 (our rating: 74%) and the Linglong Sport Master (our rating: 72%) are both summer tyres aimed at sporty drivers, but independent test results show clear differences in character and performance.

Test positions and summary

  • ACE tests: the FK520 finished 4th of 10, with its standout abilities in aquaplaning (both longitudinal and cross). The Sport Master placed 8th, its main strength listed as wet handling.

  • ACE 2026 detailed notes show the FK520 delivering the test’s best cross aquaplaning result and top dry handling (1st) plus good rolling resistance, but a surprising weakness in wet handling (last place). The Sport Master impressed in the same ACE series with the best wet handling, strong wet braking (3rd) and good wet traction — however it had the weakest dry handling and below‑average rolling resistance.

  • Auto Bild rounds: both tyres are mid‑pack in a large 50‑tyre comparison — FK520 at 8th, Sport Master at 7th. Auto Bild highlights the FK520’s longitudinal aquaplaning resistance and low exterior noise; the Linglong scores repeatably for low exterior noise and attractive price.

Strengths & weaknesses

Falken Azenis FK520

  • Strengths: Excellent dry handling and short dry braking, top cross aquaplaning resistance, competitive rolling resistance and low noise — safe and efficient on dry roads.

  • Weaknesses: In at least one ACE evaluation it showed poor wet handling and limited lateral control in heavy rain; drivers in extreme wet conditions should be cautious.

  • Note: the FK520 succeeded the older Falken Azenis FK510, and is actively sold as the current UUHP summer tyre. Manufacturer: Falken.

Linglong Sport Master

  • Strengths: Outstanding wet handling in the ACE 2026 round, very good wet braking and traction in the wet, low exterior noise and attractive price — a strong value proposition for wet conditions.

  • Weaknesses: The Sport Master shows the weakest dry handling in some tests, understeer tendency on dry surfaces, lower mileage (wear) and subpar rolling resistance — costs and fuel-efficiency may suffer long term.

  • Manufacturer: Linglong.

Verdict — which tyre is better overall?
Across the combined tests the Falken Azenis FK520 is the more well‑balanced performer: it excels on dry roads, resists aquaplaning very well and offers better rolling resistance and noise levels, resulting in a marginally higher overall rating. The Linglong Sport Master is a surprise performer in wet scenarios and represents very good value, but its weaker dry handling, durability and efficiency keep it behind the Falken in most comprehensive comparatives. If you prioritize dry handling, fuel economy and a broadly safer all‑round tyre, choose the FK520. If you mainly need the best wet grip for the budget and accept trade‑offs in wear and dry behavior, the Sport Master is a compelling option.
