The Falken Azenis FK520 and the Bridgestone Potenza Sport represent great choices for summer tyres, however, they differ in significant ways.

Coming from Falken we have the Azenis FK520 which is made in Turkey, which has been replaced by a newer model. In our ranking, it got a score of 72%. Its strongest features include longitudal Aquaplaning, good characteristics on dry and wet surfaces, projected high mileage, low wear, low fuel consumption. However, it showed slight weaknesses in comfort on dry surface, transversal aquaplaning and wet handling.

In tests like Autozeitung and ADAC, it got the 6th and 8th positions respectively, among other tested tyres. Also, it secured positions like 9th in ACE and 7th in both SportAuto and Automotorsport. Generally, it scored well for features like Aquaplaning and comfort but tends to be less dynamic in curve behaviour, along with a slight hesitation in steering response.

On the other hand, the Bridgestone Potenza Sport, coming from Bridgestone, is made in Poland and Hungary. This tyre too was superseded by a newer model. On our site, it received a higher score of 87%. Its strengths are excellent handling on dry surfaces, good performance on wet surfaces, high projected mileage, low wear. But on the flip side, it possesses a higher tyre weight and increased fuel consumption.

In mutual tests, the Bridgestone Potenza Sport usually outranked the Falken Azenis FK520. It secured the 2nd position in Autozeitung, ADAC and Autobild tests. In the ACE, it got 4th position and in SportAuto and Automotorsport, it achieved the 6th and 5th positions respectively. In the Gute-Fahrt test, it placed 3rd. Strong features noted in several tests were Wet handling, Dry handling, Safety and Wet Braking.

To sum up, the Bridgestone Potenza Sport generally outmatches the Falken Azenis FK520 in direct comparison, and is particularly favored for dry handling and stability. However, the Falken Azenis FK520 should not be overlooked, especially considering its good performance in Aquaplaning and comfortable ride.
