In this article, we will compare two summer tyres - the Continental PremiumContact 6 and the Fulda SportControl 2. Both tyres have performed well in various tyre tests and we will highlight their strengths and weaknesses based on the test results and our expert opinion.

Continental PremiumContact 6 is a touring tyre produced in SK, DE, and CZ, with our rating of 90%. This tyre has replaced the Continental ContiPremiumContact 5 and is now replaced by Continental PremiumContact 7. In the Autobild test, among 52 tyres, the PremiumContact 6 ranked in 1st place. Its best features include dry braking, dry handling, mileage, and price/value ratio. However, in Autobild 2022, some criticisms include reduced safety reserves during aquaplaning, delayed steering response, and extended wet braking distances.

On the other hand, the Fulda SportControl 2 does not have a predecessor and is not replaced by a newer tyre. Our rating for this summer tyre is 84%. In the Autobild test, the SportControl 2 ranked 9th out of 52 tyres. Its strengths include excellent aquaplaning resistance, comfort, low exterior noise, and rolling resistance. In Autobild 2022, this tyre was praised for its secure driving characteristics on wet and dry roads, good aquaplaning resistance, short dry braking distances, low rolling resistance, and comfort. However, the tyre has some weaknesses such as prolonged wet braking distances, mediocre lateral support on dry roads, and indirect steering response.

In summary, both the Continental PremiumContact 6 and the Fulda SportControl 2 have their strengths and weaknesses. The PremiumContact 6 excels in dry braking, dry handling, and has a better overall performance rating. However, its wet performance leaves room for improvement. The SportControl 2 shines in aquaplaning resistance, comfort, rolling resistance, and noise reduction but falls short in wet braking distances and dry road lateral support.

Considering their respective rankings and overall performance, the Continental PremiumContact 6 seems to be a better choice in tests. However, the Fulda SportControl 2 might be preferred by some drivers due to its excellent aquaplaning resistance and comfort factors. It is essential to consider the specific needs and preferences of the driver when choosing between these tyres.
