Our tyre tests and reviews put two summer tyres head-to-head: the Barum Bravuris 5 HM and the Falken ZIEX ZE310 Ecorun. These tyres are produced by Barum and Falken, respectively.

According to our internal rating system, the Barum Bravuris 5 HM scored 39%, whereas the Falken ZIEX ZE310 Ecorun earned 75%. Clearly, we've seen some differences in their performance.

The overall performance of the Barum Bravuris 5 HM was not as impressive, with the tyre ranking 24th in the ADAC tyre test (out of 50 tyres) and 8th in the GTÜ tyre test (out of 8 tyres). Its greatest weakness seems to be the relatively low overall rating in the tests, indicating that the tyre might have had certain performance issues. However, the specifics of these issues have not been detailed in the available materials.

On the other hand, the Falken ZIEX ZE310 Ecorun showcased far superior performance. Ranked 6th in the ADAC test and 2nd in the GTÜ test, it certainly impressed. This tyre excelled in areas such as Aquaplaning - longitudal, Comfort, and Wet braking, according to autobild's test. Also, automotorsport praised the tyre for being balanced and performing well on both wet and dry surfaces. However, they noted some minor weaknesses in its environmental footprint, efficiency, and sustainability.

It is worth mentioning that the Falken ZIEX ZE320, a newer model, has replaced the ZE310 Ecorun. The Barum Bravuris 5 HM, however, has not been replaced by a newer version yet.

In conclusion, if you decide to go for Falken ZIEX ZE310 Ecorun, you can expect stellar performance, comfort, shorter braking distance, and a fair price, despite a slight drawback concerning rolling resistance. On the other hand, while the Barum Bravuris 5 HM might have certain advantages, it's outperformed by the Falken tyre in tests when it comes to overall performance.
