Today, we'll be comparing two distinct tyres, the Apollo Aspire XP and the Dunlop SP Sport MAXX RT2. Both are summer tyres, with the former getting a 53% rating on our site and the latter scoring considerably better at 80%.


The Apollo Aspire XP garnered several compliments during tests, including its rolling resistance, which it nabbed as its best feature twice in the Autobild test. However, in terms of overall test position, it held a lower rank, coming 14th out of 53 tested tyres. In the Gute-Fahrt tests, it bagged higher in 8th position, its dry braking was notably complimented. Despite its positive qualities, the Apollo Aspire XP seems to falter in comparison to several other tyres within its class.


On the other hand, the Dunlop SP Sport MAXX RT2, a UUHP (Ultra Ultra High Performance) tyre, shines through with considerably stronger test results. Its best features include both cross and longitudinal aquaplaning, as determined by Gute-Fahrt, where it proudly seized the 3rd position out of 10 tyres. Meanwhile, in the Autobild test, it held a respectable 11th position among 53 tyres. Undoubtedly, the Dunlop SP Sport MAXX RT2 showed powerful abilities, making it one impressive tyre.


Comparatively, the Dunlop SP Sport MAXX RT2, manufactured by Dunlop, certainly seems to outshine the Apollo Aspire XP in tests, both in our ratings and in absolute ranks. With the Dunlop tyre showing an overall more powerful and dependable performance, it certainly seems to be the more preferable choice of the two.


Verdict
In conclusion, while the Apollo Aspire XP demonstrates strength in terms of rolling resistance and dry braking, its overall performance and rank in tests don't seem to match those of the Dunlop SP Sport MAXX RT2. Therefore, while the Apollo has its perks, it may be beneficial to invest in the Dunlop tyre if you prioritize aquaplaning capabilities and overall performance.
