Detailed head-to-head comparison based on actual test results
In today's comparison, we're putting two popular summer tyres head-to-head: The Vredestein Ultrac Vorti, and the Pirelli P ZERO.
According to our database, our ratings have the Pirelli P ZERO slightly ahead with a score of 61% compared to 55% for the Vredestein Ultrac Vorti. Knowing that, let's still dig deeper into the specific strengths and weaknesses.
The Vredestein Ultrac Vorti, manufactured in the Netherlands, shows its true potential especially in wet conditions, performing exceptionally well during tests in wet braking, wet handling, and aquaplaning. It also impresses with its quietness, having been complimented for its low exterior noise according to the tests by ADAC. However, it falls behind in ADAC tests for dry braking and handling.
The Italian-made Pirelli P ZERO, on the other hand, shines in its performance in dry handling and braking as tested by Autobild and ADAC, suggesting fantastic control and safety. Autobild also notes its excellent wet performance, while Gute-Fahrt praises its ability for wet circle cornering. However, ADAC tests showed no standout performance for mileage, which gives Vredestein Ultrac Vorti an edge.
In terms of position in mutual tests, the Pirelli P ZERO generally ranked higher. Autobild puts the P ZERO as fourth out of 53 tyres tested, while the Vredestein Ultrac Vorti scored ninth. In ADAC's test of 16 tyres, Pirelli acquired the third place compared to the fourth for Vredestein. Gute-Fahrt ranks Pirelli seventh out of 10 tyres, while Vredestein ended in tenth. Only Automotorsport has the Vredestein Ultrac Vorti ahead with it ending in fourth compared to Pirelli's fifth-place finish.
To sum up, both Vredestein and Pirelli offer great summer tyres, but the Pirelli P ZERO comes out slightly ahead in overall test results, particularly excelling in dry conditions and handling. But, those looking for better mileage and quieter drives might find the Vredestein Ultrac Vorti to be a more suitable choice.
Note: Neither of these tyres has been replaced with a newer model thus far.
