In this comparison, we look at two summer tyres. First, we have the Vredestein Ultrac Pro, a tyre produced in the Netherlands and Hungary. Our test results give this tyre a rating of 87%. Going head-to-head with the Vredestein, we have the Michelin Pilot Sport 5, a well-known UUHP summer tyre and successor to two previous models, Michelin Pilot Sport 4 and Michelin Pilot Sport 3. Earning an impressive rating of 97%, this tyre is definitely a strong contender.
Vredestein Ultrac Pro performed well in tests, such as Autozeitung and ADAC, where it finished in 6th and 5th place out of 10 and 18 tyres respectively. According to ace 2024, this Vredestein tyre offers good properties on both dry and wet roads, with notably low wear and fuel consumption. However, this tyre does have a predicted satisfactory mileage and higher weight.
On the other hand, the Michelin Pilot Sport 5, dominated in most tests. It secured a significantly better position in Autozeitung (4th) and ADAC (3rd). Best of all, it ranked 2nd out of 52 tyres tested by Autobild. With strengths mentioned by ace 2024 being the good characteristics on both dry and wet surfaces with a very high anticipated mileage, low wear and weight, and low fuel use, it's easy to see why. It does, however, show some weaknesses in lateral aquaplaning behavior.
To sum up, if you're considering between these two tyres. Michelin Pilot Sport 5 stands out as the clear winner in most test comparisons with its top-notch performance, maximum mileage, and cost-effectiveness. But if you're looking for a more balanced option, Vredestein Ultrac Pro also offers decent features with reasonable mileage and less wear. Be sure to consider individual driving conditions before making a decision.
