In this review, we put the Vredestein Quatrac Pro and the Michelin CrossClimate+ to the test. Both are all-round tyres meaning they are designed to perform well in all seasons and weather conditions.
Starting with the Vredestein Quatrac Pro manufactured in Hungary, this tyre ranked 6th in the ADAC test and 3rd out of 31 tyres in the AutoBild test. It boasted outstanding performance particularly in terms of Noise and Interior noise according to ADAC, and as far as Snow Traction, Wet Braking, Wet Circle Cornering, and Wet Handling according to AutoBild. Nonetheless, it was less impressive on a dry surface and very weak on snow, leading to a 62% rating from us. This model has since been replaced by Vredestein Quatrac Pro+.
On the other hand, the Michelin CrossClimate+ excelled in a greater number of areas, and was therefore placed higher in both the tests. Coming in at 3rd in the ADAC competition and an impressive 2nd out of 31 in the AutoBild test, its powerful features have been highlighted as including Dry Braking, Dry Handling, Mileage, and Snow Handling. We at OurTyreTests give this tyre a higher rating of 75%.
Both tyres have their strengths and weaknesses. The Vredestein Quatrac Pro stands out for its minimal interior noise and good performance on wet roads, but loses points for its handling in dry conditions and on snow. Meanwhile, the Michelin CrossClimate+ shines in dry conditions, snow handling, and mileage, affirming Michelin's reputation for developing long-lasting, high-performance all-round tyres.
In conclusion, while the Vredestein Quatrac Pro is a strong performer, the Michelin CrossClimate+ outperforms it in more categories according to our tests and thus is our preferred choice. Do note, however, that the specific requirements of your vehicle and driving conditions might lead you to favour one over the other.
