Comparison: Uniroyal RainSport 5 vs. Semperit Speed-Life 3 vs. Continental PremiumContact 6

Today, we offer a comparison of two summer tyres: the Uniroyal RainSport 5, and the Semperit Speed-Life 3. Produced by two trusted manufacturers, Uniroyal and Semperit respectively, both these models promise superior driving comfort and safety.

The Uniroyal RainSport 5 has achieved an overall site rating of 64% and stands out because of its excellent aquaplaning performance, which is repeatedly reported in tests like 'Autobild,' 'Autoklub ČR,' and 'ADAC.' On wet surfaces, this tyre offers secure handling and good aquaplaning qualities. However, the Uniroyal RainSport 5 shows some weaknesses on dry surfaces with a somewhat spongy driving behavior and limited lateral guidance. There is also criticism of its environmental balance, sustainability, and high fuel consumption.

On the other hand, the Semperit Speed-Life 3, succeeding the previous model Semperit Speed-Life, has secured a rating of 59%. It performed remarkably well in the 'ADAC' tests, placing second among 15 tyres, mainly due to its 'Exterior noise' and 'Wet braking' features. In the 'Autobild' test too, 'Wet braking' was a definite strength. Its handling on wet surfaces and efficiency have been praised, with longevity also being a positive point in its favor. However, similar to the Uniroyal RainSport 5, it has shown some imbalances on dry surfaces, having weaknesses regarding environmental balance.

A comparison between the two models reveals interesting findings. The RainSport 5 outperformed the Speed-Life 3 in the 'Autoklub ČR' test, securing the 5th position against the latter's 10th, among 19 tyres. However, in the 'Autobild' tests involving 53 tyres, the Speed-Life 3 placed at a respectable 12th position, far ahead of the RainSport 5, which came in at the 19th spot.

Summing up, both tyres have their strengths and weaknesses, but the Semperit Speed-Life 3 appears to be slightly better rated in the mutual tests. While attention has to be paid on dry surfaces, both tyres seem to offer a reliable performance on wet terrain - a critical feature for summer tyres.
