In this review, we will be comparing two high-quality tyres: the Toyo Proxes Sport 2 and the Nexen N fera Sport. The Toyo brand is a well-renowned for producing quality tyres that deliver excellent performance, while Nexen is a lesser known, but rising star in the tyre industry, receiving praises for producing good budget-friendly tyres.
Let's start with the Toyo Proxes Sport 2. According to our rating, the Toyo Proxes Sport 2 has garnered 63% which is just above average. Designed for summer usage, this tyre excels in dry conditions. However, the Toyo Proxes Sport 2 was placed 11th in the ADAC test and 10th in the Autobild test out of 50 and 18 tyres respectively. Being ultra high-performance (UHP) tyres, they provide balanced handling both on wet and dry tarmac. The drawbacks are its relatively lower mileage and a bit higher price. For anyone looking for an all-round performer, this could be your choice.
On the other hand, the Nexen N fera Sport has a slightly higher rating of 67% due to its extraordinary performance, especially considering it's a more budget-friendly option. Like the Toyo Proxes Sport 2, it is also a UHP tyre designed for summer driving. On the ADAC and Autobild tests, it stood tall with a position of 10 and 14 respectively against tyer number as 18 and 50. It boasts short dry braking distances, a quiet ride, and a more affordable price. The few negatives are its slight understeering handling behavior and average mileage. The model is notably used as the first equipment on the BMW 2-series Active Tourer.
In summary, Toyo Proxes Sport 2 and Nexen N fera Sport are both excellent tyres, each with its own strengths and weaknesses. According to our test results, the Nexen N fera Sport slightly outperforms its Toyo rival. However, choice of tyre would ultimately depend on the specific needs and budget of the buyer.
