Today we are comparing two well-known all-round tyres, the Toyo Celsius AS2 and the Hankook Kinergy 4S2 H750. Both made by renowned tyre manufacturers, Toyo from Japan and Hankook from Korea, these tyres offer a range of features that make them suitable for all-round driving conditions.
Starting off with the Toyo Celsius AS2, its overall rating on our page was 54%, with its best feature being aquaplaning resistance. It acquired positive feedback for good dry braking and reasonable aquaplaning resistance. However, testers pointed out its limitations in areas likes comfort, high rolling resistance, and poor grip in the wet and snow. This model has not been replaced by a newer one yet.
On the other hand, the Hankook Kinergy 4S2 H750 achieved an impressive rating of 89%, presenting with a distinct advantage over the Toyo Celsius AS2. This tire was notably awarded for its dry handling, low fuel consumption, predicted high mileage and light weight. Additionally, it demonstrated short dry and wet braking distances, and very good levels of comfort. Although it struggled a bit with aquaplaning resistance and snow performance, it managed to rank third in the ADAC tests and autobild 2023. The Hankook kinergy 4S2 H750 is an upgraded version of the previous Hankook Kinergy 4S.
In direct competition, the Toyo Celsius AS2 held 11th position in the ADAC test and 12th in autobild, while the Hankook Kinergy 4S2 H750 came in at an impressive 3rd place in both. These results highlight the kinergy 4S2 H750's superior performance across all rigorous tests.
In conclusion, although both tyres fare reasonably across a range of conditions, the Hankook Kinergy 4S2 H750 appears to be the more robust and well-rounded tyre overall. The Toyo Celsius AS2, on the other hand, may be more suited for those seeking a good price-performance ratio and superior aquaplaning resistance, with lower overall performance in other areas.
