In our extensive tyre tests, we pitted the Tomket Sport tyre against the Uniroyal RainSport 5 to compare their performances, strengths, and weaknesses directly.
The Tomket Sport is a summer tyre, and while it didn't have a predecessor or succeeding model, it rated 11% in our tests, marking it as a significantly underperformer. Test data from Autobild ranked Tomket Sport at position 49 out of 53 tyres tested, while ADAC and Autoklub ČR tests respectively ranked it 37th and 16th in large pools of 50 and 19 tyres. The primary criticisms among these tests were the Tomket Sport's unbalanced performance and weaknesses in dry and especially wet conditionsand its low durability and sustainability. More details on the Tomket Sport can be found on the manufacturer's website.
On the other hand, the Uniroyal RainSport 5, also a summer tyre, but in the UHP (Ultra High Performance) sub-category, scored a comparatively higher 64% in our rating. This tyre was consistently ranked higher in many tests such as Autobild, Autoklub ČR and ADAC, attaining positions 19, 5 and 31 out of large sample size of tyres respectively. Specially noted were the tyre's excellent performance in wet conditions, particularly in Aquaplaning – both longitudinally and cross. Nevertheless, several sources highlighted a lack of balance and notable weaknesses in dry track performance. The tyre's environmental and sustainability profile were also criticized. For more information on the Uniroyal RainSport 5, visit the manufacturer's website.
In summary, while both tyres have their own pros and cons, the Uniroyal RainSport 5 performed better overall in our tests. However, potential buyers should consider individual needs and conditions, paying particular attention to the tyres' respective strengths and weaknesses.
