The following comparison looks at two summer tyres tested on independent test benches: the Sava Intensa UHP 2 (manufacturer: Sava) and the Imperial EcoSport 2 (manufacturer: Imperial). Both are positioned as value-oriented tyres, but test results and our internal ratings show clear differences in safety and overall performance.

Test positions and scores: In the Autobild comparison (53 tyres tested) the Sava Intensa UHP 2 finished 17th of 53, with highlighted strengths in aquaplaning resistance and price/value. The Imperial EcoSport 2 finished 41st of 53, a substantially lower position. Our internal database lists the Sava at 67% overall, while the Imperial shows 0% (no positive rating recorded), reflecting either a lack of positive assessment or a failure to meet expected benchmarks.

Sava Intensa UHP 2 — strengths and weaknesses

  • Strengths: Autobild and other test notes praise the Sava for very good safety reserves against aquaplaning (“sehr gute Sicherheitsreserven bei Aquaplaning”), stable handling on dry roads, and short wet and dry braking distances. The tyre also offers a comfortable ride and a favourable price/value ratio. These characteristics make it a reliable option for drivers prioritising wet-weather safety and everyday comfort.

  • Weaknesses: The main drawback reported is limited tread life (eingeschränkte Laufleistung). If mileage and long-term wear are your priorities, this is a factor to consider.

Imperial EcoSport 2 — strengths and weaknesses

  • Observed test performance: With a 41st place in the Autobild test, the Imperial is positioned well down the field. There is no positive numeric rating in our system for this model, which signals that it underperformed against many competitors in core safety and handling tests.

  • Likely weaknesses: Given its low ranking, the Imperial is likely to fall short in critical areas such as wet handling, aquaplaning resistance and braking performance compared with mid-field and top tyres. The absence of test highlights or a positive score suggests buyers should be cautious if safety in wet conditions is important.

  • Possible appeal: As an economy tyre, it may still be attractive on price alone, but that comes with compromised performance compared with better-ranked alternatives.

Head-to-head verdict: Across shared tests the Sava Intensa UHP 2 is clearly the better choice. It outperforms the Imperial in the overall ranking (17 vs 41) and brings measurable benefits in wet-weather safety (aquaplaning) and braking. The Sava’s only significant downside is treadwear. The Imperial EcoSport 2, with no positive rating recorded and a low Autobild position, is the weaker tyre overall and should be chosen only if budget is the overriding factor and the buyer accepts lower performance in safety-related tests.

Neither model in our dataset shows a listed replacement model, so no direct successor is referenced for either tyre. For more detailed specs and test graphs, follow the tyre links: Sava Intensa UHP 2 and Imperial EcoSport 2, or visit the manufacturers: Sava and Imperial.
