Comparison: Pirelli Cinturato All Season SF2 vs. Michelin CrossClimate 2 vs. Vredestein Quatrac vs. Firestone Multiseason 2

The Pirelli Cinturato All Season SF2 and the Michelin CrossClimate 2 are two high-performing all-round tyres and provide excellent performance throughout the year. Made by reputable manufacturers Pirelli in Romania and Michelin in Italy and Spain, both products hold up well in tyre tests, but they each have their strengths and weaknesses.

Examining the Pirelli Cinturato All Season SF2, which is not replaced by any newer model, it has strengths like low rolling resistance, high safety in winter conditions, and low fuel consumption noted in various tests. According to Autobild 2018, the precision and stability in boundary areas on dry tracks and the safety on wet roads make it a top choice. But, the tests also discovered lower as predicted durability and a relatively heavier weight. Our rating for this tyre is 67%.

The Michelin CrossClimate 2, replacing the original Michelin CrossClimate, scored 94% in our rating. TyreReviews.com 2022 praised it for its extraordinary performance on snow, excellent dry braking ability, and high resistance to aquaplaning. However, it had limited grip with high understeer during wet grip tests. Autobild 2023 test also agrees and touts the tyre's excellent snow and ice handling, predicted high mileage, and precise steering behaviour. But, the relatively high price is one downside.

Comparatively, Michelin CrossClimate 2 generally performed better overall in the mutual tests, holding the top position at the Autoklub ČR test. The Pirelli tyre showed slightly lower performance with the 2nd place in ADAC test being its eye-catching result.

In summarizing, the Pirelli Cinturato All Season SF2 offers precise and reliable tyre properties at the limit on dry roads, secure characteristics on wet roads, and safe winter performance. Yet, it's being downgraded by its durability and weight. On the other hand, the Michelin CrossClimate 2 stands out with precise performance on dry roads, snow, and ice, superior predicted mileage, and lowest abrasion in the test. Still, its wet road grip performance and price may deter some buyers.
