Made in Finland, the Nokian WetProof, and the Italian-Romanian Pirelli Cinturato P7 are both strong contenders in the realm of summer tyres, boasting scores of 74% and 75% on our rating system respectively. Before digging into the specifics, it's worth noting that neither of these tyres has been replaced by newer models and they are the current offerings from the manufacturers; Nokian and Pirelli.

The Nokian WetProof excels in terms of noise levels and wet circle cornering, making it an excellent choice for rainy summer days. It clinched the 1st position in ACE and AutoMotorSport tests, proving its strength in various parameters including wet braking, wet handling, and dry braking. Especially notable was the WetProof's strong performance in the AutoMotorSport test, handling categories like dry lane changing and exterior noise effortlessly. In the Gute-Fahrt test, it held a strong position at number 4 out of 8 competing tyres. However, it did falter slightly in the ADAC test, taking on the 11th spot out of 15.

Conversely, the Pirelli Cinturato P7 shines in dry braking, noise levels and interior noise. Its best showing was in Gute-Fahrt, where it secured the 5th position. In AutoMotorSport, the P7 held its own in dry handling and dry steering response. Moreover, the tyre garnered praise for its interior noise control and wet braking. As with the WetProof, the P7's lowest ranking came in the ADAC test. Pirelli's offering found itself in 12th position. It's perhaps most disappointing showing was in the ACE test, where it ended up in the last position.

In conclusion, both the Nokian WetProof and Pirelli Cinturato P7 are commendable options for summer tyres, each with their own highlights. However, based on the data from these four tests, the WetProof is the better performer overall, particularly impressing with wet and dry handling. If choosing between these two, and wet surfaces are commonplace in your area, the WetProof might be the natural choice. In areas where rain is less common, the Pirelli Cinturato P7's superior performance in the dry could mean it's the tyre for you. In both cases, drivers can expect a reasonable degree of noise control.
