The following is a text comparison of Nokian Powerproof and Dunlop SP Sport MAXX RT2 tyres, conducted for our tyre test website. The goal is to present a fair comparison of these two tyres based on various tests we've performed and then summarize their abilities and overall performance.

Nokian Powerproof, a summer tyre made in Finland, carries a rating of 71% in our tests. Its greatest strengths lie in dry and wet braking. In the Autobild test, for example, out of 50 tyres, Powerproof secured the second position, indicating impressive braking ability. Nevertheless, issues such as slow steering response and low stability on dry tracks, limited life-span, and high pricing have been reported. Overall, the Nokian Powerproof is dynamic on wet surfaces but can struggle with control on dry tarmac.

On the other hand, Dunlop SP Sport MAXX RT2, a summer tyre of subclass UUHP, uplifts this comparison by scoring 79% in our evaluations. It performed well in aquaplaning - longitudal, and comfort during the Autobild test, in which it ranked 17th out of 50 tyres. Notably, it demonstrates strong aquaplaning features, precise handling on wet surfaces, short braking distances on both wet and dry surfaces, as well as a good level of comfort. These positive aspects, combined with its modest pricing, make it a strong contender. However, the Dunlop's delayed responses during steering on dry surfaces are noticeable.

In the Autozeitung test, despite fewer participants, the Nokian Powerproof finished 6th, while the Dunlop SP Sport MAXX RT2 ended in the 8th position. Furthermore, the Gute-Fahrt test saw the Nokian tyre in the 4th position, slightly outshone by the Dunlop tyre, that bagged the 3rd position. Both tyres proved themselves with superb aquaplaning - cross, and aquaplaning - longitudal.

In conclusion, both the Nokian Powerproof and the Dunlop SP Sport MAXX RT2 prove to be high quality tyres from reputable manufacturers Nokian and Dunlop. The Dunlop stands out with its superior overall performance, particularly in comfort and water displacement, while the Nokian Powerproof performs admirably in dry and wet braking. The choice between the two will largely depend on the specific driving conditions and customer requirements.
