Comparison: Nankang Sportnex AS-2+ vs. Toyo Proxes T1 Sport

The Nankang Sportnex AS-2+ and the Toyo Proxes T1 Sport are summer tyres designed to offer high-end performance and stability in various driving conditions. Both tyres have a high focus on comfort, noise reduction, and aquaplaning resistance, but how do they compare in tests and overall performance?

Made by Toyo, a Japanese company known for its innovation, the Toyo Proxes T1 Sport did not get an outstanding rating from our site, sitting at 0%. Still, it impresses in test results. According to a test conducted by Autobild, the Toyo Proxes T1 Sport stood at the 14th position out of 52 tested tyres. In another test by Automotorsport, it ranked even higher, at the 8th position out of 11 tyres. Furthermore, the Proxes T1 Sport was recognized for its longevity and exterior noise reduction. Despite these achievements, one weakness to consider is its mediocre performance in wet handling and its low rating on our site which may reflect its overall performance on the roads.

On the other hand, the Nankang Sportnex AS-2+ which does not have an identified predecessor or successor, scored 20% on our rating. It is crafted as a summer tyre designed for superior control and noise reduction. In the Autobild’s test, the Sportnex AS-2+ was placed at the 24th position out of 52 tyres tested. However, it climbed the ranks in the Automotorsport’s test, securing the 10th place out of 11. The AS-2+ proved to excel in areas like comfort, exterior noise reduction, and resistance against aquaplaning, both longitudinally and crosswise.

Comparing the two, it becomes clear that although the Toyo Proxes T1 Sport ranked higher in autonomous tests, it suffers from wet handling and has a lower score on our site. Meanwhile, the Nankang Sportnex AS-2+ although ranked lower in the tests, did perform well in certain areas and had a higher rating on our platform.

In conclusion, while both tyres showcase their individual strengths and weaknesses, the Toyo Proxes T1 Sport emerges as the better tyre in test positions, but Nankang Sportnex AS-2+ offers a more well-rounded performance according to our rating. Therefore, choosing between the two would depend on personal preference and specific driving requirements.
