Comparison: Nankang Sportnex AS-2+ vs. Continental PremiumContact 6

Let's take a look at the comparison of two summer tyres - the Nankang Sportnex AS-2+ and the Continental PremiumContact 6.

Starting with the Nankang Sportnex AS-2+, this tyre does not have any previous models, nor has it yet been replaced by a newer model. Our tests gave it a general rating of 20%, which suggests it might not offer the best performance compared to its competitors. In particular, its 24th position out of 52 in the Autobild test and a 10 out of 11 in the Automotorsport test highlight its less-than-stellar performance. However, not everything is negative, as it was praised for its Aquaplaning - both cross and longitudinal, exterior noise, comfort, and wet handling characteristics.

On the other hand, the Continental PremiumContact 6 (which was an upgrade from the Continental ContiPremiumContact 5) significantly overperforms its Nankang counterpart. Our tests give it an impressive rating of 83%. Outperforming the Nankang tyre, it took 1st place in the Autobild test and ranked 2nd in the Automotorsport test, indicating its superior performance. It particularly stands out in dry handling, both objective and subjective, and dry lane changing. This tyre model is currently produced in Slovakia, Germany, and Czech Republic.

Not to be forgotten, it's worth noting that the Continental PremiumContact 6 has been replaced by the Continental PremiumContact 7, which may show an even higher performance level.

In conclusion, if you're after superior performance, it looks like the Continental PremiumContact 6 is the way to go based on our test data. However, if noise reduction and comfort are your main priorities, the Nankang Sportnex AS-2+ may be considered as a budget-friendly alternative. As always, your choice of tyre will depend on your personal priorities and driving circumstances.
