Michelin Primacy 4

The Michelin Primacy 4 is a touring summer tyre made by Michelin, a well-established tyre manufacturer with factories in Spain, Germany, and Poland. The Primacy 4 has replaced the previous model, the Michelin Primacy 3, and has been further improved with the release of the newer model, the Michelin Primacy 4+.

In our tests, the Michelin Primacy 4 achieved an overall rating of 90%, performing well in areas such as dry handling, comfort, dry braking, grass traction, gravel traction, and rolling resistance. In the Autobild test, the Primacy 4 ranked 5th out of 53 tyres tested, while in the ADAC test, it secured an impressive 2nd place. This tyre is also known for its high mileage and low rolling resistance, but its price point might be a consideration for some buyers.

Toyo Proxes Comfort

The Toyo Proxes Comfort is a touring summer tyre designed and manufactured by Toyo, a Japanese tyre company. The Proxes Comfort offers a balanced performance on both wet and dry roads, and it excels in dry braking and ride comfort. The tyre has not been replaced by a newer model yet.

In our tests, the Toyo Proxes Comfort achieved an overall rating of 70%. In the Autobild test, it ranked 17th out of 53 tyres and 5th in the ADAC test. Its performance in dry handling and wet side guiding was highlighted during the Firmenauto test. However, the tyre demonstrates lower safety reserves during aquaplaning and has a slightly limited mileage in comparison to the Michelin Primacy 4.

Summary

Based on the test data, the Michelin Primacy 4 outperforms the Toyo Proxes Comfort overall. The Primacy 4's stronger points are its excellent dry handling, comfortable ride, efficient braking, and impressive traction on various surfaces. On the other hand, the Toyo Proxes Comfort offers a balanced performance on wet and dry roads but falls short in aquaplaning safety reserves and overall mileage.

Ultimately, the Michelin Primacy 4 takes the lead in this comparison, as it offers superior performance in most aspects. However, it is essential to consider your specific driving needs, preferences, and budget when making your final decision.
