Let's take a look at two popular all-round tyres, the Michelin CrossClimate 2 and the Falken EuroALL Season AS210.

Michelin CrossClimate 2

The Michelin CrossClimate 2, which is made in Italy and Spain, has no newer model that has replaced it yet. This tyre is an evolved version of the Michelin CrossClimate. Our rating for it is 94%. In mutual tests, it consistently ranks high. For example, it got 4th place in the ADAC test out of 16 and was the top performer in the Autobild test out of 32. This tyre also excelled in TyreReviews.com's tests, with strong scores for dry braking, snow braking, and snow handling.

Its strengths are unmatched snow performance, superior dry braking, high aquaplaning resistance, and very low rolling resistance. The main downside appears to be the average performance during wet braking and handling. Yet, it still offers a very balanced and reliable performance overall.

Falken EuroALL Season AS210

The Falken EuroALL Season AS210, a product of Turkey, does not have a newer model replacing it yet. Our rating for this tyre is 67%. In the ADAC test, it ranked 7th out of 16 and came to the 5th place in the Autobild test out of 32, indicating a decent but not outstanding performance.

With a good dry handling and short wet braking distances, it certainly has its bright spots. However, its extended dry braking, poor aquaplaning resistance, and weaker snow performance are downsides to consider. Another negative is the highest rolling resistance seen in the TyreReviews.com 2023 test.

Our Verdict

Overall, the Michelin seems to offer more benefits for all-round usage. Its overwhelming snow performance and exceptional dry braking set it apart, despite delivering average performance in wet conditions.

The Falken, while cheaper, may come with some trade-offs. Despite strong handling in the dry and short wet braking distances, it falls short in some aspects like extended dry braking and weaker snow performance.

Both tyres come from well-established manufacturers, Michelin and Falken, respective, so you can expect a certain level of quality regardless of your choice. Consider carefully your driving environments and conditions when choosing the perfect tyre for you.
