Comparison: Kumho Ecsta PS71 vs. Nexen N fera Sport vs. Continental PremiumContact 7

Today, we're comparing the Kumho Ecsta PS71 and the Nexen N fera Sport. Made by Kumho and Nexen respectively, these summer tyres have especially stood out in our tyre tests.

The Kumho Ecsta PS71 received an overall rating of 68% by us. This model's strengths lie in its performance during aquaplaning, comfort, and wet braking and handling, as tested by Autobild and ADAC.
However, the Ecsta PS71 had some downfalls in terms of comfort on a dry pavement and its prognosticated mileage according to autobild 2025. This tyre did not have any previous models nor has it been replaced by a new model.

On the other hand, the Nexen N fera Sport, a UHP subtype, received a rating of 59% by our team. The N fera Sport is a favourite because of its impressive mileage and controlled noise tested by ADAC and ACE. However, the tyre had minor setbacks in terms of comfort on dry pavement and aquaplaning behaviour. The N fera Sport has the advantage of being first equipment on BMW 2-series Active Tourer and is manufactured in the Czech Republic.

When placed head-to-head, the N fera Sport took the 5th place in a set of 16 tyres tested by ADAC while the Ecsta PS71 came in 10th. In Autobild's test of 50 tyres, the Ecsta PS71 secured the 5th position, two spots ahead of the N fera Sport. However, the N fera Sport redeemed itself in the ACE test by ranking 9th in a set of 10 tyres, besting the Ecsta PS71 which held the 7th spot.

In conclusion, both tyres come with their unique strengths and weaknesses, but the Kumho Ecsta PS71 edges out slightly with a higher overall rating and better test positions than the Nexen N fera Sport. It's essential to remember that the best tyre for you depends on your specific needs and driving conditions.
