In our latest tyre comparison, we are taking a closer look at two summer tyres: the Imperial EcoDriver 5 and the Tomket Sport. These tyres are manufactured by Imperial and Tomket respectively, both are known for their high-quality products.

According to our independent tests, the Imperial EcoDriver 5 was rated 17%, placing it higher than the Tomket Sport, which received a rating of 11%. However, it is important to consider other test data as well, to obtain a holistic understanding of each tyre’s overall performance.

Autobild's recent tests saw the Imperial EcoDriver 5 coming in at 32nd out of 53 tyres tested, while the Tomket Sport was closer to the bottom of the pile, coming in 49th. However, in the Autoklub ČR tests, the Tomket Sport outperformed the Imperial EcoDriver 5 marginally, securing a 16th place compared to Imperial's 17th position out of 19 tyres tested.

Some key points to highlight: The Imperial EcoDriver 5 outperformed the Tomket Sport in our own tests and Autobild tests, but in the Autoklub ČR tests, the positions were reversed. This indicates that both tyres have their strengths and weaknesses and their performance can vary under different testing conditions.

The Imperial EcoDriver 5 demonstrated commendable consistency across different tests and shows strength in reliability. However, it failed to clinch top positions in any of the tests. It lacks a successor and remains a standalone model at the time of writing.

On the other hand, the Tomket Sport shows potential for growth by managing to clinch a higher position in the Autoklub ČR tests, despite generally underperforming in our and Autobild's tests. It follows that its strengths can potentially be enhanced with further product development. Similarly to the Imperial EcoDriver, it too has not been replaced with a newer model as yet.

Overall, while the Imperial EcoDriver 5 consistently outscored the Tomket Sport in most benchmark tests, it's important to consider individual driving conditions, habits and vehicle specifications before deciding on the right tyre. We recommend investing some research to understand whether either of these tyres align with your specific needs or not.
