In this article, we will be comparing two popular summer tyres: the Hankook Ventus Prime3 K125 and the Maxxis Premitra HP5. Both tyres have been tested and reviewed by reputable automotive publications, and we will be summarizing the data from these tests to provide a clear verdict on the strengths and weaknesses of each tyre.


The Hankook Ventus Prime3 K125 is a summer tyre that was originally designed as the first equipment for the Citroën C3 Aircross. It has since been replaced by the newer Hankook Ventus Prime 4. The tyre has an overall rating of 88% and is manufactured in Hungary.

The Autozeitung test saw Hankook and Maxxis placed closer together, ranking 5th and 4th, respectively, out of 20 tyres. Hankook's best feature was dry braking, while Maxxis impressed with aquaplaning - cross, dry handling, safety, and dry steering response.


The ACE test had only nine tyres, and Maxxis outperformed Hankook in this test. Maxxis Premitra HP5 took the 1st position in the test, showcasing excellent performance in aquaplaning - cross and longitudinal, dry braking, and both objective and subjective wet handling. The Hankook Ventus Prime3 K125 ranked 8th in the test, with dry handling being its best feature.


Finally, in a different autobild test of 10 tyres, the Hankook Ventus Prime3 K125 ranked 3rd, excelling in gravel and sand traction. The Maxxis Premitra HP5 was ranked 5th, with its main strengths being aquaplaning - cross and longitudinal.


To sum it up, the Hankook Ventus Prime3 K125 is generally the better performer in the tests when compared to the Maxxis Premitra HP5.
