Today, we are providing a comprehensive head-to-head comparison of two top-performing tyres from reputable manufacturers: the Goodyear Efficient Grip Performance 2 and the Bridgestone Turanza 6. These are both high-rated summer tyres known for their exceptional qualities.
The Goodyear Efficient Grip Performance 2 succeeds the Efficient Grip Performance, carrying on its legacy of quality and durability. This model has been rated highly at 84% in our tests, showcasing its superb performance. However, in the ACE test, this tyre stood at 5th place out of 10 participants, showing room for improvement. On the brighter side, the tyre grabbed the 9th position from a total of 16 tyres in the ADAC test, indicating noteworthy mileage.
In general, Goodyear tyres are known for their extended longevity and this model is no exception. However, be aware that as a summer tyre, it performs best in dry and warm conditions and may not offer the same grip and performance in wet or colder climates. For more details, check the official Goodyear website.
The Bridgestone Turanza 6 is another popular summer tyre option. Our tests gave it an 83% rating, displaying great balance and performance. This model ranked 6th out of 10 in the ACE test, with exceptional dry handling and rolling resistance. It also secured 10th place from a cluster of 55 competitors in the Autobild test, demonstrating its overall consistency.
According to the ADAC test, the Bridgestone Turanza 6 stood at 6th position among 16 tyres, displaying great aquaplaning - longitudal, low interior noise, and insulation. The major strengths include good Aquaplaning properties, excellent predicted mileage, low abrasion, extremely light weight, and low fuel consumption. However, it shows slight weaknesses on dry and wet roads. For further information, see the full specs on the Bridgestone website.
To sum it up, both the Goodyear Efficient Grip Performance 2 and the Bridgestone Turanza 6 are excellent tyres offering balanced features, but the former model seems to have an upper hand when it comes to overall performance and longevity. However, the latter stands out for its low noise, great mileage, and better fuel efficiency. Ultimately, your choice depends on what features matter the most to you.
