Today we’ll be comparing two summer tyres, the Giti Gitisport S2 and the Linglong Sport Master, both designed for Ultra High Performance (UHP) driving. These products are from Giti and Linglong respectively - two manufacturers with solid reputations in the tyre industry.

Giti Gitisport S2

Giti Gitisport S2 is an ultra-high-performance tyre made in China. According to Autobild testing data, it clinched the 19th position out of 50 tyres being tested, with its best features being its exterior noise and longitudinal aquaplaning. The Giti Gitisport S2 shines when it comes to noise reduction, offering a quiet and enjoyable ride.

However, based on the 2023 Autobild test summary, the tyre has been cited as having a few downsides, including a shorter lifespan and delayed steering response on both wet and dry roads. It is noteworthy mentioning the Giti Gitisport S2 has not been replaced by a newer model just yet, making it Giti's current UHP summer tyre offering.

Linglong Sport Master

Contrastingly, the Linglong Sport Master was a top performer in the same Autobild testing, taking the 7th spot out of 50 tyres. Much like its Giti counterpart, this Linglong product is also distinguished for its reduced exterior noise output.

Nonetheless, it's not all praises for the Linglong Sport Master. Although it features short braking distances and safe handling behaviour under all weather conditions, the 2023 Autobild Test reveals some weaknesses. These include very low mileage, strong understeering dry handling, and mediocre comfort. No newer model has replaced the Linglong Sport Master as of now.

Verdict

In conclusion, if you value a quieter ride and solid aquaplaning performance, you might lean more towards the Giti Gitisport S2. Conversely, the Linglong Sport Master proves superior in terms of overall testing position and dry handling.

However, both of these tyres come with their respective weaknesses, such as a lower lifespan and low mileage. As a result, your personal priorities and driving conditions would play an important role when choosing between these two tyres.
