Comparison: Firestone Roadhawk vs. Sava Intensa UHP 2 vs. Barum Bravuris 5 HM

The Firestone Roadhawk and the Sava Intensa UHP 2 are both summer tyres that have shown promising test results, securing their places among the preferred tyres in the industry. Produced by renowned manufacturers Firestone and Sava respectively, both tyres boast characteristic strengths and weaknesses.

Test results reveal that our rating for the Firestone Roadhawk stands at 70% pulled down mainly due to its inferior performance on a dry road and more pronounced wear and tear. One of its commendable features, however, is its lower fuel consumption. In contrast, the Sava Intensa UHP 2 outperforms it with a rating of 78%, despite demonstrated weaknesses in wear and slightly compromised performance on a wet road.

In the Autobild test, with 53 tyres in competition, the Firestone Roadhawk took the 13th position, while the Sava Intensa UHP 2 ranked 17th. However, in the ADAC test with 17 tyres, the positions flipped. The Sava Intensa UHP 2 took a favourable 12th position while the Firestone Roadhawk ended up in 17th place. Interestingly, the Sava Intensa UHP 2 surpassed many competitors in the ACE test coming in 2nd place out of 9 tyres, with notable features being dry handling, exterior noise, and wet handling. Conversely, the Firestone Roadhawk trailed behind in 7th place, with its redeeming feature being its rolling resistance.

Tests by ACE confirmed the Roadhawk's weakness on dry roads and high wear while noting its minimal fuel consumption. In contrast, the Sava Intensa UHP 2 exhibited substantial safety reserves in aquaplaning and stable behaviour on a dry track but showed restricted mileage and weaknesses on a wet road, according to the ace 2020 test.

In summary, while the Sava Intensa UHP 2 yielded a generally better performance, both tyres have their strengths and weaknesses. The Firestone Roadhawk shines in fuel efficiency, while the Sava Intensa UHP 2 remains a reliable performer in both wet and dry conditions. However, the Sava Intensa UHP 2 could be seen as a better choice overall, given its better performances in most individual tests.
