The comparison of two summer tyres, the Dunlop Sport BluResponse and the Uniroyal RainSport 5, unveils interesting results. Manufactured by Dunlop and Uniroyal respectively, these two tyres have their distinctive strengths, but also some reservations.

The Dunlop Sport BluResponse is a resilient tyre, rated 83% on our website. In various tests, it particularly shows its strength in areas of rolling resistance and comfort. This tyre offers great aquaplaning qualities along with short dry braking distances, thereby, ensuring high fuel efficiency (Autobild 2024). However, it has average grip on wet surfaces and limited performance on wet roads ( Autoklub ČR and autoklubcr 2023). BluResponse by Dunlop didn't excel in mutual tests against RainSport 5, gaining 11th, 12th and 16th positions in tests with 53, 19 and 50 assessors.

The Uniroyal RainSport 5 is a summer tyre specialized in Ultra-High Performance (UHP). Although it has a lower rating of 72% on our website, it performed well in tests with excellent aquaplaning features. It's outstanding in wet handling (Autobild 2024) and stands out in tests, especially in longitudinal aquaplaning situations (Autobild and Autoklub ČR). However, the tyre doesn't perform well on dry roads and shows high fuel consumption (autoklubcr 2023). In various tests, it took 5th, 19th, and 31st positions that were overall better than Dunlop's positions.

Verdict: The Dunlop Sport BluResponse and Uniroyal RainSport 5 both have their own strengths and shortcomings. The Dunlop Sport BluResponse performs better in terms of rolling resistance and comfort, as well as fuel efficiency, but its wet road performance is lackluster. Conversely, the Uniroyal RainSport 5 is great on wet roads and aquaplaning, but it leaves room for improvement in terms of dry road handling and fuel efficiency. For those prioritizing comfort and fuel efficiency, Dunlop is a better choice, while those often driving in wet conditions would prefer Uniroyal. Both manufacturers haven't released newer models for these tyres.

While considering these aspects, also consider other factors like your location, driving habits, and car type before making a decision.
