In our evaluation, we have compared two popular summer tyres in the market, the Continental SportContact 7 and the Vredestein Ultrac Pro.
Made by Continental, a renowned tyre manufacturer, the SportContact 7 scored a perfect rating of 100% in our tests. It's celebrated for its excellent wet and dry handling, with distinctions for wet circle cornering and wet and dry braking. According to Autobild 2025 and Autobild 2024 summaries, the tyre demonstrates convincing sport handling qualities in all weather conditions. The dry braking distance is impressively short, and it has excellent aquaplaning properties. The only noted minus is a slightly higher rolling noise.
Continental's SportContact 7 has a consistently top position in tests, ranking 1st amongst 7 tyres in Autobild's test, and maintaining the same position amidst 18 and 8 other tyres in ADAC and Die Reifentester. This tyre, originating from the predecessors Continental SportContact 6, 5 and 3, is made in CZ, SK, PT and has been kept unchanged since its release, proving its top-notch quality and performance.
On the other hand, tyre tests rated the Vredestein Ultrac Pro, crafted by the acclaimed Dutch tyre producer Vredestein, at 71%. Aquaplaning - longitudinal and comfort were its best features, noted in Autobild's test. Positioned towards the top, 3rd in Autobild, but lower than its competitor in ADAC and Die Reifentester, the Ultrac Pro shows good performance on dry and wet surfaces, low abrasion and low fuel consumption. However, a satisfactory anticipated mileage and higher weight count towards the negatives.
Based on all tests, the Continental SportContact 7 towers above the Vredestein Ultrac Pro in terms of overall test positions and performance in wet conditions, including wet handling, wet circle cornering and wet braking. In the meanwhile, the Vredestein Ultrac Pro puts up a good fight with high ratings in aquaplaning, comfort and noise properties, though struggle to match the all-round brilliance and sport attributes of its competitor.
