Comparison: Continental PremiumContact 7 vs. Bridgestone Turanza 6 vs. Hankook Ventus Prime 4

The two summer tyres in comparison are the Continental PremiumContact 7 and the Bridgestone Turanza 6. They are products of the highly respected manufacturers Continental and Bridgestone respectively.

The Continental PremiumContact 7, manufactured in France, Slovakia, Germany and Czech Republic, takes over from the PremiumContact6 and ContiPremiumContact 5 and has a tyre test rating of 99%. On the other hand, the Bridgestone Turanza 6, made in Spain, comes in succession to the Turanza T005 with a tyre test rating of 83%.

Comparison tests reveal the superiority of Continental PremiumContact 7 in both dry and wet conditions. In ACE testing and AutoMotoSport testing, it emerged as the best tyre. Wet braking, wet handling and dry braking are particularly highlighted as the area of its strengths. An additional feature is its comfort, which makes rides pleasing and enjoyable.

On the Bridgestone Turanza 6, rolling resistance stands out as a major strength, highlighted in ACE, Automotorsport and Autozeitung tests. However, it did not fare quite as well in terms of positions in tests, relatively lagging in Aftonbladet, Autozeitung and ADAC tests.

In terms of the more general comments, the Continental PremiumContact 7 boasts excellent grip in wet conditions and is safe at aquaplaning. It is also quite durable and efficient, despite the slightly higher rolling resistance and price.

The Bridgestone Turanza 6 is praised for its good aquaplaning prevention and appropriate wet braking properties. It is a sporty, dynamic tyre that's easy to manage on dry roads. Nonetheless, it shows limitations in wet conditions, specifically the traction and corner grip. The tyre also exhibits some light weaknesses on both wet and dry surfaces, but is recognized for its great fuel efficiency and weight, which reflects in lower fuel consumption.

In conclusion, the overall performance of the Continental PremiumContact 7 is more impressive despite it being slightly noisier and more expensive. Yet, the Bridgestone Turanza 6 also offers some great features, scoring high on fuel efficiency, which might make it a good pick for specific user needs.
