Let's compare two premium summer tyres, the Continental PremiumContact 6 made by Continental and the Dunlop Sport BluResponse made by Dunlop. Both are considered quality touring tyres perfect for summer conditions.

The Continental PremiumContact 6 has replaced the previous model, the Continental ContiPremiumContact 5. The model has been further upgraded and is now available as the Continental PremiumContact 7. The Dunlop Sport BluResponse doesn't have a previous model nor has been replaced with a newer one yet.

Based on our tests, the Continental PremiumContact 6 outperforms the Dunlop Sport BluResponse with our rating at 87% compared to Dunlop's 83%. However, it's significant to note that the differences are quite nuanced.

In comparison, both tyres perform well in different categories. For example, in the ADAC test, out of 18 tyres, the Continental PremiumContact 6 held the first position while the Dunlop BluResponse lagged only slightly behind at the fourth position.

Autozeitung and Autobild tests also had similar results. Continental PremiumContact 6 was first and fourth position in Autozeitung and Autobild respectively, while Dunlop Sport BluResponse came in at the eighth and eleventh position in the same tests. However, in an ACE test of 9 tyres, Dunlop Sport BluResponse climbed to second position, in comparison Continental PremiumContact 6 came third.

Strengths of the Continental PremiumContact 6 include a high level of driving safety, decent performance on both dry and wet roads. However, Autobild pointed out small weaknesses when it came to efficiency. Dunlop Sport BluResponse was praised for its good performance on dry roads and its lightweight and efficient nature. Dunlop faced criticism for not being as balanced as other tyres, and underperformed slightly on wet roads.

Overall, the Continental PremiumContact 6 slightly outperforms the Dunlop Sport BluResponse overall, mainly due to its balanced approach and better performance on wet roads. But, considering the Dunlop Sport BluResponse's strength on dry roads and its high efficiency, the choice will highly depend on specific driving conditions and individual priorities.
