Comparison: Continental AllSeasonContact vs. Nexen N Blue 4 Season vs. Giti AllSeason AS1

In this comparison, we will analyze and compare the performance of two all-season tyres, the Continental AllSeasonContact and the Nexen N Blue 4 Season. While the AllSeasonContact remains a popular choice for drivers seeking year-round versatility, the N Blue 4 Season has been replaced by the Nexen N Blue 4 Season 2.

Continental AllSeasonContact achieved an impressive score of 90% in our rating. Manufactured in Slovakia, Czech Republic, and France, it consistently performed well across various tests. In Autoklub ČR, it took the first position out of nine tyres, excelling in aquaplaning, dry handling, comfort, and wet circle cornering. AutoBild ranked it fifth out of 27 tyres, praising its incredible snow braking and cornering, and wet circle cornering. Continental's AllSeasonContact also performed well in Autobild 2020, ACE, AutoMotorSport, and ADAC tests, showcasing its impressive prowess as an all-season tyre. Notably, Autobild 2020 highlighted the AllSeasonContact for its excellent aquaplaning resistance, precise steering behavior, high mileage, and fuel-efficient rolling resistance.

However, it is essential to note that the AllSeasonContact has its drawbacks. Autobild 2022 pointed out that while it has excellent winter capabilities, the tyre exhibits understeer in dry conditions, extended braking distances, and reduced mileage, affecting the tyre's overall cost-effectiveness.

On the other hand, Nexen N Blue 4 Season secured a solid 80% rating in our evaluation. Manufactured in China and Turkey, it also boasts a commendable performance in various tests. Autoklub ČR ranked it sixth, while AutoBild placed it in the eighth position out of 27 tyres. In the Autobild 2020 test, the N Blue 4 Season was praised for its well-balanced performance, short dry braking distances, good aquaplaning resistance, quiet rolling noise, and high mileage.

Nevertheless, it has its weaknesses too. The N Blue 4 Season displayed understeer on wet and dry surfaces and had extended wet braking distances, as observed in the Autobild 2022 test. Furthermore, it showcased an increased rolling resistance affecting fuel efficiency.

In sum, both the Continental AllSeasonContact and Nexen N Blue 4 Season tyres offer robust all-around performance suitable for year-round driving. While the AllSeasonContact appears as the better overall performer, it has some areas where the N Blue 4 Season might excel. Drivers should consider their driving style, conditions, and priorities when deciding between these two options.
