Based on the data obtained from various tyre tests, we have compiled a review of two all-round tyres: the Continental AllSeasonContact 2 and the Bridgestone Turanza All Season 6. Manufactured by Continental and Bridgestone respectively, they have shown impressive performance in different conditions.
The Continental AllSeasonContact 2, made in the Czech Republic, replaces its predecessor, the Continental AllSeasonContact, and has won the top spot in some tests like those from SPORTAUTO and Autozeitung. Overall, this tyre received an 85% rating from our site, tested well in terms of wet handling and braking, and stood out for its low rolling resistance and dry handling performance. However, it had average aquaplaning reserves and high price level as its downsides.
On the other hand, the Bridgestone Turanza All Season 6, praised for its superior wet circle cornering, longitudal aquaplaning, and dry braking capabilities, has secured first positions in AUTOBILD and Aftonbladet test. It offers the best rolling comfort however, it underperformed on snow-covered roads. Made in Italy, this model has attained a slightly higher rating of 88% from our site and is available at a more reasonable price.
According to the ACE test, the AllSeasonContact 2 is the best for wet braking, wet handling and dry handling whereas the Turanza All Season 6 takes the lead in longitudal aquaplaning. Despite the Continental tyre's extended dry braking and low aquaplaning resistance highlighted in the TyreReviews.com 2024 test, it was still seen to offer the best value due to its lowest wear and best performance in dry handling, wet handling, snow traction and ice overall.
Overall, while the Bridgestone Turanza All Season 6 has an edge in its aquaplaning resistance, wet circle cornering and a more wallet-friendly price, the Continental AllSeasonContact 2 scores high in terms of wet handling, snow handling and low fuel consumption. Both tyres have their individual strengths and weaknesses and the choice between the two would largely depend on the specific needs and expectations of the driver.
