The Bridgestone Weather Control A005 and the Pirelli Cinturato All Season Plus are both excellent all-round tyres that offer good performance in various conditions. However, they each have their own strengths and weaknesses, which we'll discuss in this comparison.
The Bridgestone Weather Control A005 scores well in terms of dry handling, exterior noise, and rolling resistance, making it a great choice for city and highway driving. It also performs well in wet conditions providing short braking distances. However, as noted in the Autobild 2020 test, it shows mediocre lateral control and traction on snowy surfaces which may not be ideal for winter driving. Overall, our website rates this tyre at 45 percent based on its performance.
On the other hand, the Pirelli Cinturato All Season Plus stands out for its high mileage, fuel-efficient rolling resistance, and good dry braking. Its safety reserves when it comes to aquaplaning are also commendable. The tyre does, however, have longer braking distances and an understeering grip on snowy and icy surfaces, which might be a point of consideration for winter driving. This tyre received a rating of 50 percent on our site.
Comparatively in the Autobild test, out of 27 total tyres, the Bridgestone Weather Control A005 ranked first, showcasing its remarkable performance. The Pirelli Cinturato All Season Plus, however, placed lower, in 10th place, indicating that while it's a good all-around performer, it's outperformed by others in the test including the Bridgestone model.
In conclusion, while both the Bridgestone Weather Control A005 and Pirelli Cinturato All Season Plus are decent all-season tyres, the Bridgestone model has an edge, especially in tests, having better overall performance and ranking higher in mutual tests. Importantly, neither of these two tyres is replaced by a newer model as of yet. More information about these tyres can be found on their respective manufacturer's websites Bridgestone and Pirelli.
