Today, we will be comparing two summer tyres: the Apollo Alnac 4G and the Dunlop Sport BluResponse. Our focus will be on synthesizing the data from numerous tests, pinpointing each tyre's strengths and weaknesses, as well as their respective positions in mutual tests.
The Apollo Alnac 4G, produced by Apollo Tyres, has an overall rating of 46%. In Autoklub ČR's comparison test of 19 tyres, it was positioned at 14, while in ADAC's 50-tyre comparison, it came at 27. According to ACE 2018's text summary, its strengths lie in its efficiency, but it lags due to imbalances and its performance on both dry and wet surfaces. The tyre also took a hit for its negative environmental impact, relatively low running performance, and high abrasion.
On the other hand, we have the Dunlop Sport BluResponse, designed by Dunlop Tyres. With an overall rating of 71%, this tyre ranked 12 in Autoklub ČR's test and 16 in ADAC's comparison. ACE 2018 highlighted this tyre's exceptional performance on dry roads and its efficiency. Plus, it is considerably lightweight. However, similar to the Apollo Alnac 4G, it showed minor weaknesses on wet surfaces and raised environmental concerns. Additionally, its lifespan was found to be shorter than average.
Perhaps most impressively, the Dunlop Sport BluResponse ranked 6 in Autobild's 50-tyre comparison test, with its comfort being a highlighted feature. The Apollo Alnac 4G, on the other hand, landed at a much lower 29.
In conclusion, while the Apollo Alnac 4G performs decently and is notably efficient, it struggles with balance and performance in various conditions, coming with environmental and durability concerns. The Dunlop Sport BluResponse, although with similar issues, outperforms the Apollo Alnac 4G in tests overall, shines on dry roads, and offers a comfortable ride. Hence, the Dunlop Sport BluResponse seems to be the preferred choice.
Please note that neither of these models has been replaced by a newer model as of now. Always remember to consider your specific requirements and driving conditions before choosing the tyre that fits you best.
